A tongue-tie release procedure, also known as a frenectomy, is a simple surgical procedure to treat a condition called tongue-tie, or ankyloglossia.

This condition occurs when the thin piece of tissue that connects the underside of the tongue to the floor of the mouth is too short or tight, which can restrict the movement of the tongue and cause a variety of problems.

During a tongue-tie release procedure, our dentist uses a special instrument (laser) to cut or release the tissue that is causing the tongue to be restricted.

The procedure is typically performed on an outpatient basis and takes only a few minutes to complete. After the procedure, patients may experience some mild discomfort or swelling, but these symptoms are usually short-lived and can be managed with over-the-counter pain relievers.
